Penn Alumni Webinar: The Art of Choosing
In an era of ever-expanding options, choice is a powerful tool to define ourselves and mold our lives – but what do we know about the motivations, biases, and influences that aid or hinder our endeavors? In other words - how do we know what we want?
Join Penn alumna and Columbia University professor
Sheena Iyengar, W’92, a leading expert on choice, as she discusses her
latest book, The Art of Choosing.
Iyengar sets out to help us become
better choosers by asking fascinating questions: Is the desire for
choice innate or created by culture? Why do we sometimes choose against
our best interests? How much control do we really have over what we
choose? Through this process, you will discover how your choices – both
mundane and momentous – are shaped by many different forces, visible
and invisible.
