The Ivy Plus Society Alumni Get-Together Spring Fling at Sloane Thursday, April 29th
This event is organized by The Ivy Plus Society (TIPS). We know, we know: It's been traumatic week: Creaky cable car lines are getting shut down for months at a time; marijuana-legalization is going on the ballot; and Hare Krishnas have been banned from pan-handling at SFO. How's a stoned guy in orange robes going to be able to afford a taxi now? We'll let you over-achievers figure that one out. Meantime TIPS has a party to promote: We're going to Sloane, a place that's not quite a bar, not quite a club, not quite an Unobtanium mine. Come on out and toss back a few drinks with some of your fellow young alumni.Citysearch says, "Sloane, from the team that opened Vessel and Fluid, is a bar disguised as a club disguised as a bar, in the space formerly known as Duplex. The abundant exposed brick, beautiful redwood bar and 20-foot ceilings--not to mention the chandelier made of 5000 tiny bottles--are pleasingly handsome, while the blue-lit, three story smoking room at the back recalls a science fiction movie."
