How'd you like to kick it with your friends while kicking back some aid to those in need? Then come on out for The Ivy Plus Society Holiday Benefit Party. All proceeds will benefit Youth and Family Enrichment Services, a regional nonprofit that helps children, youths and adults build life skills and attain self-sufficiency.
Knowing your door fee is going to a good cause will make the yummy desserts we'll be serving all night taste even better. And if the recession has you mumbling a bit of 'bah, humbug,' this may be just the thing you need to kick your better instincts into gear this holiday season.
Our venue for the night is The Parlor, an upscale, retro saloon in Fisherman's Wharf. Daily Candy wrote this about The Parlor: "The new neighborhood saloon-meets-lounge brings a touch of the upper crust to the usual chaff of Fisherman’s Wharf. ...A throwback to turn-of-the-century San Francisco, with exposed-brick walls, antique chandeliers, and button-tufted leather banquettes. Classic cocktails set the mood, as do scores like a ten-year single-barrel whiskey from Kentucky’s Buffalo Trace distillery (exclusive to the joint) and lesser-known Irish whiskeys. There’s also a semiprivate area with a pool table and club chairs called The Library."
About Youth and Family Enrichment Services: YFES is a private non-profit agency in San Mateo County that provides a wide array of free and low-cost services to help children, youth and adults who are dealing with substance abuse, violence, mental health, relationship and communication issues.
